今週金曜日は節分の日です

節分の日には、「鬼（おに）は外（そと）～、福（ふく）は内（うち）～」
と言って豆まきをする習慣があり、
季節の変わり目に起きやすい病気や、災害に見立てた鬼を追い払います
また、1年を健康に過ごせますようにという願いを込めて
年齢の数だけ豆を食べます

他にも、節分の日にはその年の良い方角とされる
恵方を向いて食べる巻き寿司で、
恵方巻き（えほうまき）と呼ばれるものを食べますが、
恵方巻きには正しい食べ方というものがあります

①2023年節分の恵方は南南東で、その方角を向いて食べること
②恵方巻きは福を巻き込んで作られているため、縁が切れたり、
福が途切れたりしないよう、包丁で切らないで食べること
③食べるときに話しながら食べてしまうと福が逃げるとされているので、
願い事をしながら最後まで黙々と食べきること

これらを守りながら節分の日に恵方巻きを食べることで、
幸運を呼び寄せ、新しい年を良い一年にすることができます

恵方巻きは家で作ることもありますが、
お店で販売されているところも多いので、
みなさんも是非、恵方巻きを買って南南東を向きながら食べてみてください！

Setsubun Day

This Friday is Setsubun Day.


On Setsubun Day, there is a custom of throwing beans saying “Oni wa soto, Fuku wa uchi” (Devils out, good luck in) to drive away demons that are likely to occur at the change of seasons and disasters.
In addition, people also eat as many beans as their age with the wish that they can spend the year in good health.


On Setsubun day, people also eat sushi rolls called “Ehomaki”, which are eaten facing the direction of good fortune for the year, but there is a proper way to eat them.


① The lucky direction of Setsubun in 2023 is south-southeast, and the sushi should be eaten facing that direction.
② Ehomaki rolls are made with good fortune involved, so eat them without cutting them with a knife so as not to cut off the edges or cut off the good luck.
③ It is said that if you eat it while talking, the blessings will escape, so eat it silently to the end while making a wish.

Eating Ehoumaki on Setsubun day while observing these rules will bring you good luck and make the new year a good one.


You can make Ehoumaki at home, but there are also many shops that sell them, so please buy some and eat them while facing south-southeast!
