みなさんは自転車に乗りますか？
TLSにも自転車通学をしている学生がいます
そんな中、日本では放置自転車が問題になっています

放置自転車は、歩いている人や車の通行、
災害が起こった時の避難や消防活動の邪魔にもなります
放置自転車の中には、盗まれたものや捨てられたものもたくさんあり、
市区町村ごとの集積場に運ばれて、そこで保管されています
昨年度の調査では、こうした放置自転車を運んだり保管したりする費用に、
なんと年間45億円以上もかかっていたそうです
最近では、保管期間を過ぎて誰も引き取りに来なかった自転車は、
きれいに直して日本国内で販売されたり、
海外へ送られたりするといったリサイクルが進められています

みなさんは、自分の自転車が盗まれたり、
集積場に持って行かれたりしないように、
きちんと鍵をかけて駐輪場に止めるようにしましょうね！

Abandoned Bicycles

Do you ride bicycles?
There are TLS students who commute to school by bicycle.
In such a situation, abandoned bicycles have become a problem in Japan.


Abandoned bicycles can be a hindrance to pedestrians and cars, as well as to evacuation and firefighting activities in the event of a disaster.
Many abandoned bicycles have been stolen or thrown away.
They are transported to municipal collection points and stored there.
According to last year’s survey, it cost more than four billion five hundred million yen per year to carry and store these abandoned bicycles.
Recently, bicycles that have passed their storage period and no one comes to pick them up are being recycled by repairing them and selling them in Japan or sending them abroad.

You should make sure their bicycles are locked and parked at the bicycle parking lot so that they won’t be stolen or taken to the collection area!
