点字ブロックが日本発祥なのを知っていますか？
点字ブロックとは、街中にあるデコボコした黄色いサイン
目の不自由な方の誘導のために、大活躍をしています！

日本で外を歩くと、点字ブロックを見ない日が無いぐらいよく見かけます
そんな点字ブロックは2種類
線が並んだブロックは、進行方向をおしてくれます
点が並んだブロックは、階段・横断歩道前や駅のホームの端等、注意が必要なことを教えてくれます
目立って見えやすいように黄色なんですよ

今では日本以外の国でも見られる点字ブロック
サインの邪魔をしないためにも、ブロックの上は常に何もない状態を心掛けましょう
日本へ来たら、点字ブロックの多さにもチェックしてみてください

Braille blocks

Did you know that Braille blocks originated in Japan?
Braille blocks are the bumpy yellow signs found throughout the city.
They do a great job of guiding the blind and visually impaired!

When you walk outside in Japan, there is not a day that goes by that you do not see a Braille block!
There are two types of Braille blocks.
Blocks lined with lines indicate the direction of travel.
Blocks lined with dots are used for stairs, crosswalks, and station platforms. The dotted blocks indicate the direction of travel, such as before a stairway, a pedestrian crossing, or at the end of a station platform.
They are yellow so that they are conspicuous and easy to see.

Braille blocks can now be found in countries other than Japan.
To avoid obstructing the signs, always keep in mind that the tops of the blocks are always empty!
