もうすぐ2019年も終わり！　この12月の最後は　日本人にとって　

お世話になった人に「ありがとう」「またよろしくお願いします」を伝える

とっても大切な時期なんです

今回のブログでは　そんな日本の年末（ねんまつ）の文化を紹介します

①　大掃除（おおそうじ）

まずは大掃除！　“大”掃除なので　いつもよりスペシャル！

1年間の汚れをしっかりと落として　新しい年に向けてリフレッシュ

みんなで「一年間ありがとう」の気持ちをこめて掃除します

②　年越し（としこし）そば

学校や会社も終わり　いろんな人に「今年一年ありがとう」を伝えたら・・・

12月31日の夜　一年の最後に　日本ではそばを食べます

ぶどうを食べたり　特別なケーキを食べたりする国もあるそうですね

そばは細く長くのびるので

「長生き（ながいき）できますように」という願いがこめられているんだそうです

「来年もよろしくお願いします」という気持ちで食べるんですよ♪

③　あいさつ

学校や会社の最後の日には　「よいお年を」というあいさつをします

Full version は「よいお年をおむかえください」

「あなたにとって　来年もいい年になりますように！」という意味です

2019 is almost over!
This season, the end of the year, is very important for Japanese people to give thanks to people around them.
Today we would like to introduce how to spend the end of the year in Japan.

1. Osoji (“Spring cleaning” in the end of the year)
Doing special clean up!
It means that we remove dirt for the year and make a fresh start in the　new year.
Let’s clean up with thanks.

2. Toshikoshi Soba
People eat Soba in the evening of Dec. 31 in Japan.
Some countries eat grapes, special cakes, etc..
Soba is thin and long, so it is said that you can live long if you eat Soba.
Let’s eat Soba with hope of the next year.

3. Greeting
We says “Yoi otoshi wo!” to people on the last day of school or work.
Full version is “Yoi otoshi wo omukae kudasai”.
It means “I wish you a happy new year”.
Let’s say “Yoi otoshi wo!” to your precious persons.
