Using 148 Resources to Consider Post-Graduation Paths: “Career Summer”

Summer of TLS, Summer of Career!
July is a crucial period for pursuing future career paths. During this time, many universities and vocational schools hold open campus events, and application submissions begin. To make the most of the remaining time before graduation, students should plan and gather information.
Students at the starting line first participate in career orientation sessions conducted by career counselors. They begin by addressing questions such as, “Why choose this career path?” and “How do I proceed?”

Toyo Language School offers 148 different resources for career support! They utilize a combination of online and offline methods.
For example, offline content includes on-campus briefings conducted by various institutions including 13 universities and graduate schools, 12 professional training colleges, and 2 companies.
Online, the latest information is provided via Teams, including announcements for designated school recommendations, distribution of application guidelines received from universities and vocational schools, and open campus event information, all updated daily.
Additionally, they feature past student experiences in column format and update self-study content – My Study- such as SPI exam preparation. Alumni also engage in live discussions with current students, sharing their experiences in various career paths.

One of the distinguishing features of Toyo Language School is the active communication between students and teachers, and this characteristic is also evident in career activities.
Students can ask additional questions regarding the information posted on Teams, and the answers are then also posted. Instead of merely providing information unilaterally, the institute addresses students’ questions until they are clear, and these exchanges are shared for the benefit of other students as well. By involving alumni, they provide beneficial communication for the students.

TLSの夏、キャリアの夏！
7月期は進路活動に取り組む大切な期間です。
この期間は、多くの大学や専門学校でオープンキャンパスが実施され、出願受付なども始まる時期です。卒業までに残された時間を有効的に使えるよう、計画を立てたり、情報収集を進めたりします。
スタートラインに立つ学生たちはまず、進路担当が行う進路オリエンテーションに参加します。なぜ、その進路を選ぶのか？どうやって進めていくのか？という問いかけに向き合うところから始めます。

東洋言語学院が進路サポートとして提供しているコンテンツは148個！
オンラインとオフラインを組み合わせながら行っています。
たとえば、オフラインのコンテンツは、来校型の説明会がそれぞれ、大学・大学院（13校）、専門学校（12校）、企業（2社）により実施されます。
オンラインでは、Teamsでの最新情報の提供として、指定校推薦のお知らせ、大学や専門学校から届く募集要項の配布、オープンキャンパスの案内などが毎日更新されています。
他にも、卒業生が在校中に取り組んだ過去の体験談をコラム形式で掲載したり、My Study（自己学習コンテンツ）ではSPI対策などを更新しています。
卒業生が自分の経験をもとに在校生とライブでやりとりができる対談会もそれぞれの進路で実施します。

東洋言語学院の特徴の一つは、学生と教師とのコミュニケーションが活発であることですが、この進路活動でもその特徴がよく表れています。
Teamsに掲載された情報に対して、学生が追加の質問を投げかけ、その回答がまた掲載されます。ただ一方的に情報が流れるのではなく、学生が知りたいと感じていることをクリアにするまで向き合う、それをさらに他の学生にも見えるように発信する。卒業した先輩たちも巻き込みながら、学生にとって有益なコミュニケーションをとっています。
