日本はとても信号機の多い国
みなさんも、日本に来ると毎日のように見かけるのではないでしょうか

日本で普通の信号機の次に多いのは、押しボタン式の信号機です
日本の押しボタン式信号機は、電柱に黄色い箱のようなものが付いていて
そこにある赤いボタンを押すと青信号に変わります
多くの場合は、ボタンのすぐ近くに細長い表示画面があり、
ボタンを押す前は、「おしてください」
ボタンを押した後は、「おまちください」
と表示されます
なので、「おしてください」と表示している時は、赤いボタンを押さないと、待っても信号が変わらないので注意です
TLSの本校舎のすぐ近くにある横断歩道も、夜だけ押しボタン式信号機になっているんですよ

また、黄色ではなく白い箱がついている信号機は、目の不自由な人のために
ボタンを押すと青信号の間だけ音が出たり
体の不自由な人たちのために青信号の時間を長くしたりする機能が付いている信号機になっています

Japanese push-button traffic lights

Japan is a country with a lot of traffic lights.
I think you will see it every day when you come to Japan.
The second most common traffic light in Japan is a push-button traffic light.

Japanese push-button traffic lights have something like a yellow box attached to a utility pole.
When you press the red button, the traffic light turns green.
Many push-button traffic lights have a screen near the button.
Before you press the button, it shows “Please wait” on the screen.
After you press the button, it shows “Please push” on the screen.
So, when it displays “Please push,” be careful because the traffic light won’t change even if you wait unless you press the red button.
The pedestrian crossing near the TLS school building also has a push-button traffic light only at night.

Also, the traffic light with a white box instead of yellow is a traffic light with a function that makes a sound only during the green light when you press the button for the visually impaired, or makes the green light longer for the physically impaired.

If there is a traffic light that doesn’t change quickly in Japan, please look for a button nearby.
