最近は見かけることが少なくなった公衆電話
使ったことはないけど、見たことはありますよね

災害時に通信規制を受けないので、携帯電話などよりつながりやすいのです
しかも、公衆電話は停電になっても使うことができます

公衆電話がどういったときに役立つのかわかったところで、まずは、実際の電話のかけ方を説明しますね

ふだん利用するときにはお金が必要ですが、使える硬貨が決まっているので注意しましょう
使えるのは10円玉と100円玉だけで、100円玉からのおつりは出ません

電話のかけ方
①　受話器を「とる」・・・耳に当ててみてください
最初は何も音が聞こえません
②　お金を「入れる」・・・お金を入れると、耳元から「ツー」という音が聞こえてきます
この「ツー」が鳴ったら、かけられる合図です！
③　電話番号を「押す」・・・ボタンをしっかりと押しましょう

また、公衆電話にはテレフォンカードが便利です
テレフォンカードはプリペイドカードのようなもので、500円と1,000円の2種類があって使った分だけ残高が減っていきます
コンビニエンスストアでも買うことができますが、停電時には使えません

Learn about public telephones

Public telephones that are rarely seen these days.
You’ve never used it, but you’ve seen it before?

Communication is not restricted during disasters, so it is easier to connect than mobile phones.
Moreover, public telephones can be used even if there is a power outage.

Now that you know when public phones are useful, let me explain how to actually make a call.

You need money to use it on a regular basis, but be aware that the coins you can use are limited.
Only 10-yen and 100-yen coins can be used, and no change will be given from 100-yen coins.

How to call
① “Pick up” the handset… Please hold it to your ear. No sound at first.
② “Insert” money… When you insert money, you will hear a “two” sound from your ear.
When this “two” sounds, it’s a signal to hang!
③ “Press” the phone number…press the button firmly.

Also, calling cards are convenient for public phones.
Telephone cards are like prepaid cards, and there are two types, 500 yen and 1,000 yen, and the balance will decrease as you use them.
You can buy it at convenience stores, but it won’t work during a power outage.
