ちょっとした移動にとても便利な自転車、日本では友達からもらう時に、ただもらうだけではいけないことを知っていますか？

人から自転車をもらったら「譲渡証明書」を書いて、自転車屋に持って行く必要があります。
譲渡証明は、自転車の持ち主が変わりますよという証明のこと。

自転車をくれた人と自分の情報を書いた譲渡証明書を自転車屋に持って行くと、新しい防犯登録のシールを自転車に貼ってもらえます。
そのシールは車のナンバープレートのような役割をしていて
シールに書かれた番号で、自転車の持ち主情報が分かるようになっているんです。

自転車の防犯登録は日本の法律で決まっています。
防犯登録をしているお陰で、盗まれてしまった自転車が見つかることもあるんですよ！

日本で自転車が欲しい人、友達からもらう人は譲渡証明書の記入と防犯登録を忘れないでくださいね！

Proof of Bicycle Transfer and Security Registration

Did you know that in Japan, when you get a bicycle from a friend, you can’t just get it?

When you get a bicycle from someone, you need to fill out a “certificate of transfer” and take it to a bicycle shop.
A transfer certificate is a proof that the owner of the bicycle will be changed.

When you take the certificate with information about you and the person who gave you the bicycle to the bicycle shop, they will put a new security registration sticker on your bicycle.
The sticker works like a license plate on a car.
The number on the sticker is used to identify the owner of the bicycle.

Bicycle security registration is required by Japanese law.
Thanks to the security registration, a stolen bicycle can be found!

If you want a bicycle in Japan, or get one from a friend, don’t forget to fill out the transfer certificate and register it for security!
