Ease Your Interview and Application Concerns! Chuo University Information Session to Help Shape Your Future Path

At TLS, we hold on-campus and online information sessions with a wide range of universities throughout the year to help expand the future options available to our international students. As one example, we would like to share a recap of an information session held with a representative from Chuo University, a highly competitive private university that is highly popular among international students. Many students attended the session, making it a valuable opportunity for them to carefully consider their future paths.

The students who attended the session listened attentively to the representative’s presentation in a calm manner. It was particularly striking to see them all look up and take notes at once when questions directly related to the admission outcome came up during the Q&A session. Since interviews are unfamiliar in the entrance examinations of many of their home countries, the students asked a series of specific questions, such as, “What kinds of things will be asked?” and “How long will it take?” They resolved their questions one by one.


For students who had previously known only a few Japanese universities, this information session was a major turning point. By learning firsthand about the university, Chuo University emerged as a concrete choice for their future studies, and some students who had been unsure about whether to apply made up their minds and said, “I will definitely apply!” The students’ goals became clearer, and they approached their future paths with a positive attitude.

However, TLS’s support for students’ further education does not end with simply attending an information session. Through our unique “My Teacher (MT) System,” we work with each student face-to-face, providing thorough support ranging from reviewing application documents to editing statements of purpose. Furthermore, our practical preparation system, including interview practice designed to simulate the actual entrance examination, is one of TLS’s key strengths and something that sets us apart from other schools.

Gaining admission to a highly competitive university can be achieved through gathering the right information and making thorough, uncompromising preparations. TLSでは、留学生の進路の選択肢を広げるため、年間を通してさまざまな大学の校内説明会やオンライン説明会を実施しています。今回はその一例として、留学生からも人気の高い難関私立大学・中央大学のご担当者様をお招きした説明会の様子をお届けします。多くの学生が参加し、自身の進路とじっくり向き合う貴重な機会となりました。

当日参加した学生たちは、落ち着いた様子で担当者様のお話に耳を傾けていました。質疑応答の場面で合否に直結する質問が出たとき、一斉に顔を上げてメモを取る姿が特に印象的でした。自国の受験には馴染みがない「面接」について、「どのようなことを聞かれるのか」「時間はどのくらいか」といった具体的な質問が相次ぎ、一つひとつの疑問を解消していっていました。

説明会を受けるまでは日本の大学については数校知っている程度だった学生たちにとって、今回の説明会は大きな転機となりました。大学のリアルな情報に触れたことで中央大学が具体的な志望校として浮上し、出願を迷っていた学生が「絶対に出願します！」と気持ちを固める場面も見られました。目標が明確になり、前向きに進路と向き合う学生たちの姿が見られました。

しかし、TLSの進学サポートは「説明会を聞いて終わり」では決してありません。TLSには独自の「マイティーチャー（MT）制度」があり、参加した学生一人ひとりと対面で向き合い、出願書類の確認から志望理由書の添削まで徹底的にサポートします。さらに、本番をイメージした面接練習を通じて実践的な対策を重ねられる体制こそが、他校にはないTLSの強みです。
