Recognizing Personal Growth and Stepping with Confidence into the Next Chapter: Our “Appreciation Ceremony”

Today, Toyo Language School (TLS) held its “Appreciation Ceremony.” This is an important event held to send off the students who will complete their studies at TLS this June. Based on the heartwarming concept of “recognizing one’s own hard work and having that dedication acknowledged by everyone around them,” we presented the Perfect Attendance Award and the Student Staff Contribution Award, celebrating each student’s journey together.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the “Color Hunting” activity, in which students searched the school for objects matching their assigned color and took photos of them. The students enjoyed the activity with childlike enthusiasm and full energy, eagerly exploring the school and sharing wonderful smiles along the way. In fact, this activity carried an important message from the school staff to the students:

“The beautiful colors you found today didn’t just appear out of nowhere; they have always been around us. What truly matters is having the mindset to actively look for and notice them. Just by shifting your focus to places you never paid attention to before, you can always discover a whole new world and new possibilities.”


The same is sure to be true for the rest of their time abroad and their lives ahead. All of us on the staff sincerely hope that through this experience, our students will realize how much they have grown—recognizing that their time at TLS has given them the ability to view the world from many different perspectives—and that they will take their next steps with confidence.



本日、東洋言語学院では「承認式」を行いました。承認式とは、この6月でTLSでの勉強を終了する学生たちを送り出すための大切な行事です。「これまでの自分の頑張りを認め、周りのみんなからもその努力を認めてもらう」という温かいコンセプトのもと、出席優良賞や学生スタッフ貢献賞の授与を行い、みんなでこれまでの歩みを称え合いました。


式の中で特に大盛り上がりだったのが、校内にある「自分の担当カラー」のものを探して写真を撮るカラーハンティングです。学生たちはみな無邪気に、そして全力でカラーハンティングを楽しみ、素敵な笑顔を見せながら校内を熱心に探索していました。実はこのアクティビティには、学校のスタッフから学生たちへのある大切なメッセージが込められています。

”今日みんなが見つけた素敵な色たちは、突然現れたものではなく、ずっと前から私たちの周りにあったものです。つまり、大切なのは「探そう、気づこう」とする自分自身の姿勢。今までは気にも留めなかった場所に少し目を向けてみるだけで、いつでも新しい世界や発見が見つかります。”


これはこれからの留学生活や、その先の人生でもきっと同じです。「東洋言語学院での生活を通して、色々な視点から物事を見る力がしっかり身についたんだ」と、学生たち自身が自分の成長を実感し、自信を持って次のステップへ進んでいってくれることを、スタッフ一同心から願っています。
