How the Industry Career Briefing Sessions Eased Job Hunting Worries in Japan

The recruitment company of the Jikei Group, ascope, Inc., held two career briefing sessions at Toyo Language School!
This time, the sessions were aimed at students interested in working in the creative and IT industries.

ascope, Inc. provided detailed explanations about employment types, ascope, Inc.’s recruitment services, and support available. Also, they offered full support for international students’ concerns, including checking resumes and CVs and assisting with interviews. In addition, they introduced companies that students could be referred to through ascope, Inc..

The suit specialists then provided guidance on how to select suits like these and the important points to be aware of.
Those companies… are major corporations that everyone admires!
There were not only world-famous companies, but also many well-known domestic companies.
We also learned that through ascope, Inc., many foreigners are active in the gaming industry, as well as in translation and interpretation roles across various industries.

As for the kinds of jobs foreigners are active in, they include QA staff, department assistant, programmer, marketing, localization, planning, merchandise planning and e-commerce, front-end engineer, server engineer, AI development, UI/UX development, and educational app development, among many others.

But apparently, this is just a part of the picture—there are plenty of opportunities!


At the briefing session, we were joined by Lee, a senior student from South Korea! When Lee first arrived in Japan, he only knew basic Japanese phrases for greetings, but he studied Japanese diligently and conducted his job hunting here in Japan.
Without using a job agency like ascope, Inc., he worked hard on his own, but unfortunately ended up working for a company that didn’t pay his salary for two months — a bitter experience.
Now, drawing on that difficult experience, he is passionately supporting foreign job seekers with the strong desire that “no other international students or foreigners should go through the same hardships!”
He also explained key concerns that international students often have, such as “residence status,” Japanese language proficiency, visa support, and that some IT companies accept applicants even without N1 or N2 certification.

Among the guests who came to the briefing session was a person who, after graduating from a professional training college, gained experience designing various printed materials such as magazines and CD jackets, as well as web design including cosmetics-related sites, and now works as an art director specializing in 2D, 3D, and illustration-related projects.

Designers and creators with deep industry knowledge offered students valuable advice on portfolios and interview preparation from both HR and creator perspectives—an incredibly valuable resource！

Students struggling with job hunting felt relieved to have a reliable source of support.
Additionally, there were comments like, “I want to do this kind of work! But my Japanese is still not good enough…” and “I will work hard on my Japanese first so I can get the job I love!”
These briefing sessions provided an opportunity for each student who took the first step of participating to find their next step!

滋慶学園グループの人材紹介会社、アスコープ株式会社さんが東洋言語学院で就職説明会をしてくださいました！
今回は、クリエイティブ業界で働きたい学生と、IT業界で働きたい学生向けの「業界就職説明会」を実施しました。

雇用形態、アスコープの人材紹介サービス、サポートを詳しく紹介していただいたり、履歴書・職務経歴書のチェック、面接のサポートなど留学生のみなさんが不安に思っていることを全面サポート。またアスコープさんから紹介してもらえる会社をご紹介頂きました。

その会社は・・・誰もが憧れる大手企業！
世界的に有名な会社はもちろん、国内で有名な会社も多くありました！
アスコープを通じてゲーム業界や翻訳・通訳の仕事で活躍している外国人の方も多数いるそうです！

そんな外国人のみなさんがどんな仕事で活躍をしているかというと、QAスタッフ、部内アシスタント、プログラマー、マーケティング、ローカライズ、企画、グッズ企画・EC事業、またフロントエンジニア、サーバーエンジニア、AI開発、UI/UX開発、教育アプリ開発など多種多様。
みなさんがやりたい仕事も入っていますか？
でも、これはあくまでも一部なんだそうです。チャンスはたくさんですね！


今回の説明会には、学生達の大先輩、韓国から来たイさんがこの説明会に来てくれました！
来日時には挨拶レベルの日本語しかなかったイさんですが、日本語をしっかり勉強して、就職活動を日本で行っていました。
アスコープのような就職エージェントは利用せずに一人で頑張った結果、給与が2か月支払われないような会社に勤めてしまったという苦い経験も。
今は自分のその苦い経験を活かして、”同じ留学生・外国人のみんなに同じような思いをしてほしくない！”という熱い想いで外国人の就職サポートをしているそうです。
「在留資格」や日本語、ビザのサポートや、IT企業の中にはN1、N2がなくてもOKな会社もある、ということなど留学生が不安に思うポイントもご説明頂きました。

また今回説明に来てくださった方の中には、専門学校を卒業後、雑誌やCDジャケットなどの紙全般のデザイン、コスメ関連を含めたwebデザインを経て、2D、3D、イラスト関連のアートディレクターをしているという経歴を持った方も！
デザイナー、クリエイター、現場を知り尽くした方がみなさんのサポートをしてくれるということで、人事やクリエイターの目線で企業に求められるポートフォリオ、面接の対策のアドバイスが受けられるのは心強いですよね！

「仕事探し」に苦労している学生たちも頼る先ができて安心していました。
その他にも、「こういった仕事がしたい！けど、日本語はまだまだ・・・」「好きな仕事に就けるようにまずは日本語を頑張ります！」といった声も。
「説明会に参加する」という一歩を踏み出した学生たち一人ひとりが、次のステップを見つけられた説明会でした！
