JCT Education System

A system of growth designed to help students reach their goals

There are three basic principles behind any individual’s progress: “Always have a goal when you start something,” Be aware and ready to change yourself,” and “Have good habits and stick to them.”
To ensure the Japanese language proficiency of each student improves steadily, we have incorporated these growth principles into our educational system. This is the JCT Education System.

J:Jikei Japanese Monitoring

Accurately Understand Your Japanese Language Proficiency

We developed JJM to monitor the language ability of each student. It consists of a proficiency test to assess the abilities in “characters/vocabulary”, “grammatical accuracy”, “reading”, and “listening” at levels A1 to B1+, and a class achievement test focusing on “characters/vocabulary”, “grammatical accuracy”, and “reading”.

C:Counseling

Analyze Your Proficiency Based on Test Results

Based on the results of JJM, your designated teacher (My Teacher) will conduct counseling sessions with each student. The goal is to encourage self-analysis and provide insights into areas of improvement that the student may not be aware of, helping them understand what they can and cannot do. This serves as the foundation for setting goals.

My Teacher

My Teacher is your personal supporter who will accompany “only for you” from enrollment to graduation. Even if you change classes or levels, your My Teacher remains the same. They will closely monitor your growth and support you not only academically, but also with career and daily life matters.

Counseling Sheet

The front side of the sheet focuses on language proficiency evaluation.
Using the “Frame of Reference for Japanese Language Education”, we’ve created “Can do statements” tailored to our students. Showing the levels and abilities they have achieved in using the language. The teacher’s evaluation and the student’s self-evaluation are reflected in this.

On the other hand, the reverse side is an assessment of language knowledge based on the results of the JJM.
For example, even within beginner classes, students have diverse abilities. Some students may be good at using vocabulary, while others may excel at understanding the general meaning of sentences. The sheet allows students to identify their strengths and weaknesses in specific areas and levels.

T:Target Setting

Set the Optimal Goals for the Next Semester

After understanding the current situation using the counseling sheet, we will set short-term goals for the next three months, keeping in mind the main goal of studying abroad, such as why you came to Japan. You can choose to either overcome weaknesses or develop your strengths, linking this to what you can study at the next level. This is one thing only My Teacher, who knows your growth process, can help you with.

Develop Good Habits and Maintain Them

By measuring current abilities with JJM, analyzing the results in counseling, and setting goals for the next semester, this cycle is repeated every three months, helping you form good habits.
